No one knew the heart of Sandra
regarding her tranquility towards
Udoka's inquisition, and non of them
wanted to know especially Adaku
who glared at her wanting to react
but Faith restricted her knowing
what she could do. Sandra jingled
her car key and said, "You think you
can be rich and at the same time
flout my warning. I personally
warned you to stay away from
David but it seems you are a
stubborn fly that will definitely follow
the corpse to the grave"
"You are the fly!" Adaku shrieked
from behind. "A stupid one for that
matter!" she added trying to
disengaged from Faith.
"Hey! Are you insulting me?!" Sandra
wanted to get to Adaku but Udoka
blocked her saying, "You dare not
her!"
Sandra became woozy after hearing
her spoke boldly. Therefore she
stepped backward.
"I have respected you a lot" Udoka
began while Monica who stood
beside her began to smile because
she knew her sister wanted to bring
out her real colour. "That i keep quiet
all this while doesn't mean that I'm
stupid. I have respected you enough
and i can see you don't deserve it.
So it's time i teach you a lesson if
you don't mind your business"
"What?!" Sandra shouted. "You little
rat!" she raised her hand to slap
Udoka but she defended it and
pushed her backward. Instantly,
Adaku forcefully pushed forward to
return the slap Udoka blocked but
Faith held her back.
"Leave me let me teach this girl a
lesson!" Adaku could only point her
fingers at Sandra as Faith held her
across the waist. "Thank your God
that you aren't close to me, witch!"
she concluded.
When Sandra wanted to react, Kate
gently tapped her back and said, "Let
them be." Then she briskly
catwalked back to the car.
"You have touched the lion by the
tail" Sandra told the girls and also
went back to her car.
:
Inside Sandra's car, she poured out
her anger planning to deal with
Udoka but Kate remained quiet. She
brought out a cigarette, made it lit
and a large amount of smoke came
out from her mouth.
"What are your plans?" she asked.
"What do you mean?" Sandra
returned the question.
"What do you want to do to
Udoka?"
"I want to disgrace her, make her
leave David or probably kill her. She
has stepped on my toes! What
nonsense is this? She's as stubborn
as.."
"Hey!" Kate interrupted her and blew
out smoke. "You talk too much"
Everywhere became quiet. One
could see the car saturated with
smoke as if it was set on fire. Kate
looked at Sandra and said, "Is time
for Udoka to experience the darkest
hour of the dark forest of Ikuku
spiritually"
"It sounds scary" Sandra said.
"Nothing good comes easily" Kate
concluded.

A WEEK LATER
It seemed to Udoka as if Sandra had
stopped her madness coz her
presence wasn't seen for once
throughout the week. She set to see
Ugonma with David. Both were on
their way with David on the stirring
wheel. The speed of the car could be
detected from it's velocity. From
afar, one could see the tires rolling
backward while it was moving
forward overtaking other cars. All
the glasses were closed to deduce
that the temperature was very low
due to the car air condition. Udoka
glanced at David who had been quiet
and said, "Is anything the matter?"
"Not really. Something is bothering
me" David replied.
"What? Your mum?"
"No"
"Then what?"
"It's Sandra. I have not seen her
over a week. She doesn't attend
lectures or visit anymore" David said
but Udoka remained quiet without
looking at him. She had already told
him about her encounter with
Sandra. David noticed that she might
have been jealous so he said, "No,
don't misunderstand me. After the
incident both of you had, have you
seen her again?"
"No" Udoka replied.
"That's what I'm saying. I feel she's
about to do something diabolical to
you or probably me which i don't
want to experience suddenly coz I'm
ready for her"
"I'm not afraid of whatever she's
about to do" Udoka said while David
smiled at her words. "Only one
thing bothers me now" she added.
"What's that?"
"Your mum" Udoka looked at David.
"I think she doesn't like me and i
don't know how she gonna react if
she sees you with me"
"My mum doesn't hate you. You
only need to understand her" David
said but Udoka remained quiet.

Mr Robinson sat in the parlour with a
news paper wearing a pair of
eyeglasses and a black trouser with
a singlet when David arrived with
Udoka. He heard the door cracked
open, he looked at the direction to
see his son with a beautiful girl in
skirt blouse.
"Good day, Dad" David drew closer
with Udoka and gave his father a
fatherly hug.
"Good day, sir" Udoka greeted too.
"Good day, welcome" Mr Robinson
looked at her strangely. "Are you not
one of the twins that discovered
diamond in our land?"
"I am, sir" Udoka smiled.
"Mr William's daughter?"
"Yes, sir"
Mr Robinson smiled. "Your father
was a good man and a friend of
mine too. I know his story. Accept
my condolence" he concluded..
